Shikha is a qualified Biotechnologist with a professional degree of Bachelor’s in Technology. She holds Bachelor’s degree in Law and is admitted as an advocate at Bar Council of India and Bar Council of Delhi. She is a registered Indian Patent Agent hasalmost 10 years of experience in the IP domain. She is a part of IP related committees in esteemed organisations and institutions such as International Trademark Association and Indian Council of Agricultural Research - National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.
Her primary roles are providing opinions to clients on various complex and contentious issues related to patentability of an invention, searching, drafting, filing and prosecution of national and international patent applications. She deals with patent applications related to the field of biological sciences, pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, immunology, neutraceuticals, bioinformatics, bioprocess engineering, polymer technology, organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemical, peptide chemistry, medicinal chemistry, organometallic, food technology and oil and gas chemistry. She has worked on different paid and free databases for seraching purposes like Derwent Innovation, , Total PATENT, Patent lens,DEPATISnet (German patent office), ESPACENET, USPTO, PATENTSCOPE,CNIPA (Chinese Patent Office) etc.
She has hands on experience in dealing with matters related to National Biodiversity Authority and Plant Protection of Plant Varieties & Farmers' Rights Authority, India.
Shikha frequently appears before the Indian Patent Office and Delhi High Courts for various matters.
She has been invited to deliver lectures on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) by various recognised forums such asBiotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Global IP Convention (GIPC), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE), Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs of India (CWEI), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and Cell for IPR promotion and management (CIPAM).
